Travels

I haven't been everywhere yet,

but it's on my list.

2018 - Fall

Hawaii - Big Island, Kauai, Maui. I had two focuses on this trip. Capturing timelapses and experimenting with my new GoPro (which I should have purchased in 2013).

2018 - Fall

Virginia - Shenandoah National Park. Focused on capturing my own backyard, especially the rivers, using a neutral density filter.

2018 - Summer

Western Europe - Belgium, Netherlands, France. Let's be honest, any description of this must begin with a simple fact. Here Andy ate waffles. Many, many waffles.

2018 - Summer

Southern Europe - France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia. Did a lot of Golden Hour photography to capture places in their best light.

2018 - Spring

US Roadtrip - Virginia to California and back, visiting 18 states and 14 national parks/forests. Focused on capturing the landscapes of the various national parks.

2018 - Winter

Persian Gulf - Dubai and Bahrain. Returned to the Gulf for the first time since 2013. Oh, how I missed the food. Can someone please bring a good shwarma joint to C'ville?

2017 - Fall

Virginia - Shenandoah National Park. I was hired to do engagement shots by a friend. I enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone and taking this step.

2017

Tennessee - Middle of Nowhere. Drove to Tennessee to view the Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017. I can safely say it was one of the most amazing moments of my life.

2016 - Summer

Colorado - Maroon Bells, Gray's Peak, Rocky Mtn NP. Worked primarily on landscape framing as well as as wildlife photography when the opportunity arose.

2016 - Summer

US - Virginia, West Virginia, and Colorado. My niece provided me a unique (and adorable) challenge to capture during her first few years.

2015 - Summer

Virginia. Two beautiful golden retrievers were added to the family that made great adventure buddies and photo models.

2015 - Spring

US Southwest - Las Vegas to Denver hitting all the national parks in between. Focused on capturing (and playing on) the red rock I fell in love with back in 2011.

2014 - Summer

Europe - Netherlands with trips throughout Western/Central Europe. Traveled in sync with World Cup to visit countries while their team was playing.

2014 - Spring

Fiji - Taveuni and the Rainbow Reef. Got my PADI certification and went on several dives on the rainbow reef, one of the top dive sites in the world. 👌

2014 - Fall

New Zealand - One month highlight trip with my two sisters. Brought a wide angle lenses this time which allowed more successful astrophotography shots.

2014 - Summer

Australia - Perth, Great Ocean Road, Sydney. Returned to Perth to live/work but also got to view Vivid Sydney and experiment with Timelapses for the first time.

2014 - Winter

Malaysian Borneo - Kuching, Gunung Mulu NP, Niah Caves, Bako NP. Celebrated Chinese New Year with an amazing friend and explored many jungles and caves.

2014 - Winter

Hong Kong - The beginning of my second backpacking journey. I camped on a beach in Lan Tao island where I could walk to the mountains.

2013 - Summer

Philippines - Island of Bohol. The finale of my first backpacking trip. Tried SCUBA diving and felt I had been to another planet. If only my Nikon was waterproof.

2013 - Fall

New Zealand - Road tripped for 2 months. By far the most photogenic place I've ever been filled with the nicest people I've met. And I've been to Canada (sorry).

2013 - Fall

Australia - Lived/worked in Perth, traveled by rail all across the country from Sydney to Darwin. Landscape, City, and Wildlife shots were taken throughout.

2013 - Spring

SE Asia - Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Near Batu Caves I captured a moment with a wild monkey that inspired me to work harder on wildlife photography.

2013 - Spring

Persian Gulf - Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman. Embarked on a worldwide backpacking journey with no return ticket. Lugged my new Nikon D7000 along too.
